# About SKTH

This is the SKTH platform. Every auction house lives under `/t/{house}`.

SKTH is an online auction platform for the people who make, collect and place objects in the world. A house can publish timed sales, live sales and a fixed-price Gallery. The phrase on the door is the commercial rule: the seller keeps the hammer.

## For collectors

Start with the published catalogue. A lot page carries the information a house has chosen to share: its title, description, condition report, estimate or Gallery price, current bid and closing time. Registration, a bid and a Gallery purchase happen with the person in the browser, on the sale itself.

## For sellers

A house brings its own catalogue and collector relationships. SKTH makes the public sale legible without changing the central auction promise: the seller keeps the hammer. The buyer's premium funds the house.

## For houses

The same public surface can hold a timed auction, a room sale and a fixed-price Gallery. Houses decide what to publish; collectors see the sale terms before they register. Rates shown for an auction sale freeze at the hammer, rather than changing with a later setting edit.

## What stays private

Draft sales and draft lots stay off the public site. A reserve is never published. A bid ladder does not name the bidder. House desks, accounts, seller statements and the live console are not catalogue pages.

## Payments

Card charging is a deployment choice and is off unless that deployment has turned a provider on. A demonstration site tells you it is a demonstration. This page does not say that a particular house is licensed, regulated, or open for live cards.
